I never thought this day would come!

Something really, really crazy and unbelievable happened this summer. Something that I haven't really been prepared to write about it until now. Something that happened to me, to all of us really, on the 28th of June....
But before I go into the details lets go back a few years, just a few! Because it really only seems like yesterday!

Here is Indy, all brand new and just a few days old! She is the first grandchild on both sides of the family so we got spoiled. I loved dressing her in all her cute outfits that had been given to us by lots of loving family and friends! Clothes that I had been looking at for months taking them out of the dresser and looking at them and then lovingly folding them and putting them back in there place anticipating the arrival of our baby!

She chunked up quite quickly and all her siblings to come would follow her example (well except Ellie she was the tiniest!) Jared was a loving Daddy that still had hair at the time! Kinda looks weird to see him with hair now, its been gone so long! Jared has always been so good to Indy and has always wanted to encourage her to try new things, as in do all the hobbies he is doing. Sometimes she would like them sometimes not so much!

We used her to entertain us often, and she was a natural at it! She could make faces on demand, "Indy show us your sad face!" "Indy show us your happy face!" and my favorite, "Indy show us your scared face!" And she would always do the face on demand every time! At 2 years old she kept and entire room full of her grandparents and a aunts and uncles completely captivated while watching her open her birthday presents for TWO HOURS! Did I already tell you she was spoiled rotten?

She was my best friend. She was always there and always made me smile and feel loved, the same way she does now!

She, miraculously, has lots of friends! She has known Abi and Siena since forever really and Erica moved in around kindergarten! And all the other friends she has collected over the years seem to stick around. They love watching Psych, and all of the Marvel Super hero movies like Iron Man, Thor and the Avengers. They like riding bikes and just being outside together talking! The conversations are becoming more about boys and it scares me! I am so happy she has a good group of friends!

Because seriously, look at this face! How could you not love this face!

She is adventurous! Indy tried surfing this summer! She loved it! She has big plans for her life! Like to go to an Ivy league college and become a Vet!

If you tell Indy to pose for a picture she will most likely do this...

Her baby brother adores her. All her siblings do. She is kinda going through a phase where she wants to act too cool for hugs or kisses but everyone still wants one from her anyway so chase her around until we get one, or close to one!

She is so much like me in a lot of ways... But so much her own individual self that is unique and interesting! I can't wait to see what she makes of her life!

And now back to that crazy unbelievable thing that happened this summer! This baby of mine, my little girl, my big girl has turned 13! I can't believe I have a teen! It's not possible! She was just born yesterday! I love this girl with all my heart she made me a mother and that was the best thing that ever happened to me!

And look at this picture of her sweet face on her birthday! It portrays exactly what she is thinking perfectly-
"Bring me the presents and you shall live..."

So now its official I have blogged about it!
Happy Birthday, Indy!

P.S. Just wait until next year when she starts High School!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhh! Denial is the only way I will survive!
