Chili Pizza Surprise

This is my Dad.
My Dad is awesome! When we were kids growing up my dad would occasionally make dinner for us. There were three things I remember my dad making. The first meal and the one he made most was S.O.S., which is what my dad called hamburger gravy. We usually had it over rice which is weird to every one else, I know but that's how we liked it. But we did also have it on noodles, biscuits and occasionally toast which is apparently how it got it's name. One night we kids asked my dad why it was called s.o.s and my dad told us (to my mothers disapproval) that when he was at boot camp for the Army National Guard they served hamburger gravy over toast and it had gotten the infamous nick name S%*& on Shingles. I still remember my dad teaching me to make it and I still make it just how he taught me!

The second meal my dad liked to make was Bloody Biscuits. My dad learned to make these when he was a boy scout. They would make a glaze out of the powdered drink, Tang, and spread it over the biscuits when they were cooking. Well, when we were kids Tang was not our drink of choice, but we did always have a koolaid packet lying around and my dad would mix that with one cup of sugar and enough water to make a paste and spread that all over the hot yummy biscuits! The koolaid was usually red and therefore got the name bloody biscuits.

And my dad's 3rd meal, and the one I think he is most proud of because it really is his own creation is Chili Pizza Surprise. It has a biscuit crust (my dad is good at making biscuits!), filled with chili and cheese and then topped with more biscuit and then more cheese. It is yummy comfort food at it's finest! My daddy made it special for all his kids tonight! It was delicious and even Jared said so!
