4th of July 2008

So, way back in the dark ages, when I was just learning how to blog, I had limited knowledge of the internet. I was blogging on a laptop and for some reason right around the time Milo was born my blog went wacko. I couldn't get blogger to let me upload any pictures. It lasted for over a week so I decided it must be because I had taken up to much space with all my post I had done up to that point, which was less than a year of posts. SO... I did the only logical thing I could think of, I copied and pasted my old posts on to word documents and then deleted them off my blog. I know, crazy huh! I have been wanting to repost them to my blog for some time but we have switched computers a couple times since then and I haven't had the documents right at my finger tips. Well, today I do, and I will be reposting a couple at a time. Unfortunately, I can't post them back under their original dates but I will feel better knowing they are back on my blog!

So Here is 4th of July 2008!

I love The 4th! It is a day that as a child always involved lots of good food and fun! In California we don't have the Stadium of Fire fireworks to go watch, but we still had so much fun. When I was a we would have a fabulous barbaque at my grandparent's and then their whole neighborhood would put on a fireworks show in the middle of the street. Hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks (now that I am old enough to know how much they cost!)
All the dads, uncles, grandpa's and friends would light of a great show, and all the kids would sit on the curb and ohh and ahh! It was so much fun- staying up late and being caught up in all the excitement with the adults.

Thoes memories are what make the 4th my favorite day of the year! Hear in Utah their are lots more traditions that we can share with my children. The awesome parades and all the freedom festival activies like the ballons...

And thank you to our neighbors who lit off fireworks in the street and let the girls sit on the curb and use their sparklers, and Ohh and Ahh... I t was the kind of memories I want them to have.

I hope I can give my kids the same good memories that my parent's gave me! Because that is what childhood is really all about, right?
