This is what I love!

I love The 4th! It is a day that as a child always involved lots of good food and fun! In California we don't have the Stadium of Fire fireworks to go watch, but we still had so much fun.

After a fabulous barbaque my grandma's whole neighborhood would put on a fireworks show in the middle of the street. Hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks (now that I am old enough to know how much they cost!). And all the dads, uncles, grandpa's and friends would light of a great show, and all the kids would sit on the curb and ohh and ahh! It was so much fun- staying up late and being caught up in all the excitement with the adults.

Thoes memories are what make the 4th my favorite day of the year! Hear in Utah their are lots more traditions that we can share with my children. The awesome parades and all the freedom festival activies like the ballons...

And thank you to our neighbors who lit off fireworks in the street and let the girls sit on the curb and use their sparklers, and Ohh and Ahh... I t was the kind of memories I want them to have.

I hope I can give my kids the same good memories that my parent's gave me! Because that is what childhood is really all about, right?

  1. Sounds like fun! I miss doing fireworks on the street like that. We aren't allowed to light off fireworks on the AF base but we did go watch the fireworks on Waikiki beach. That was pretty cool.
