It made me think of a recent question my kids were asked by the bishop of our ward. He asked my kids what they liked about their mom. Only 2 kids could come up with an answer- "she's pretty" and "she's a good cook". Hmmmm... Of course, those were nice things to say, but still I expected more... But then I thought more about why I expected more... (you still following?) My children do spend a lot of time eating my food and I looking at me, and they see me at my best and at my worst so I fell very fortunate that they think I am pretty (well, at least one does.). What more could I expect... I don't spend a lot of time telling them about myself. My life usually revolves around them every waking moment of my day!
So when I saw the article about 30 things my kids should know about me I saw a perfect blogging opportunity.

1. I have been hit on the head in the same spot 2 times with a golf ball on the East Bay golf course within 2 months of each other while I was pregnant with Indiana.
2. My grandparents had a pet monkey
3. My grandpa taught me how to use an addle addle, and a sling, and a sling shot and how to shoot a gun.
4. I was named after a my mom and a beach boy song, 'Carolina'.
5. I almost joined the Coast Guard. But I backed out at the very last minute because my dad didn't want me to do it.
6. When I was younger I always thought I would have 3 boys and 1 girl.
7. I have always loved dogs, I ended up convincing my parents to get me a dog when I was 10 because I started wishing I was blind so I could get a guide dog.
8. I trained a guide dog puppy when I was a teenager.
9. I have always loved going to dentist.
10. I went to Disneyland once, when I was 8 years old, with a friend and her parents.
11. I love the beach, I love wind in my hair, I love sand in my toes!
12. I have always planned on being an ER nurse when I grow up, well since I was a teenager, before that I would have told you that I wanted to be an artist.
13. I used to be in love with an actor named Jonathon Brandis from the movie Sidekicks with Chuck Norris.
14. When I was really little, maybe 3 or 4, I ate a whole bunch of vitamins at a friends house with my older brother Justin, then we had to take ipacac and throw it all up.
15. Which reminds me, I haven't thrown up since I was 11 years old and had a really stomach bad flu.
16. My grandparents owned a drivers ed school in California where I learned to drive. I passed my driving test with 100%!
17. I have been to Costa Rica and I loved it and and have been looking for a realistic way to move there ever since!
18. My parents were born on the same day of the same year.
19. My parents wouldn't let us watch Looney Tunes when we were kids because they said it was too violent.
20. My cousins nicked named my siblings and I 'the koolaid mustache family' because we drank the stuff alot and frequently sported bright red mustaches!
*21. My dad was a helicopter mechanic and I got to go up quite a few times. Once on career day, I even got to ride to my middle school in the helicopter. I was pretty cool that day let me tell you!
