Now this title might sound really scary and I have to say, it was!
On Friday morning Milo had his first encounter with a Black Widow. I, myself, have had very few encounters, in fact, I don't think I have ever seen a black widow in my own home before... Maybe in barns, sheds or other people garages, but my house has always seemed so safe...
I was doing laundry in our little laundry room off the garage. I was finished and caring a basket clothes back into the house when I notice Milo was interested in something next to the big bucket of Costco laundry detergent sitting on the tile floor. My mama instincts told me to check it out right away... I dropped the basket and picked him up quickly. I notice a very black, very shiny, spider squirming around missing a leg! I knew it was a very bad spider! But I had to see it's belly! So I took that bucket of Costco laundry and smashed that bugger!! Then with a very big wad of toilet paper I picked it up and saw it... The blood red... Boy, did I get the shivers!!
After a through check of Milo's precious little fingers and chubby little feet. I was sure he was safe, whew!
Milo won this round... But if there is enough bug spray in this world, there won't be a round two!
Oooooh! YUCK!
ReplyDeleteWe've found a few around here but like you, so far so good. No one has been bit.
Truly scary! I'm glad that Milo is safe from that spider!
ReplyDeleteWell, probably that same day we had one in our kitchen, Chelsea said. I missed the event. Black widows aren't deadly, though, unless you are married to one!
ReplyDeleteThat is really scary! Another reason to totally despise spiders! Stay away from our Milo!
ReplyDeleteScary - I hate spiders.
