** I forgot to put in the last post how she got the gash! She was playing in a neighbors yard and there was a piece of metal stuck in a white pvc irrigation pipe that was sticking out of the ground. Indy's calf just came into perfect contact with this piece of metal to get sliced... Jared went over there to see what it was that was stuck in the pipe (So he could destroy what ever it was that had hurt his princess!) but the other kids had already thrown it away...
Okay- on to the removal...
This is Dr. Clayton. The best Doctor ever! He was my doctor when I was little and of course he had to be my kids pediatrician too (And Karen's and Heather's...)!! But this was a special treat today because Dr. Clayton's son, Matt, is starting to work with his dad so we see him most of the time now... We like Dr. Matt a lot, but Indy, especially, is very attached to Dr. Clayton Sr!

Close your eyes for the next pic!!!!
The stitches... All 12!

A tug, a snip, and a pull... It did hurt a bit, but Indy took it like a champ!
Finishing up...
The reward!
My mom told Indy that the Stitches Fairy comes when you get your stitches out... So the stitches are taped to a tounge depressor and waiting under Indy's pillow right now... We will see what happens...
Hey! Dr. Clayton is ours too and we loooooove him and are so sad to see him less and less. Sob! I wish I'd have made him sign that contract. The one that says he has to stay in the business until Jadon is all growed up.......ya......that contract.
ReplyDeleteThat was quite the gash!! Ice cream is the best treat following a doctors appointment. :)
ReplyDeleteBTW - cute family picture on the heading. Milo is getting so big, I love hime standing there in front of everyone.
I was wondering what happened! Poor girl! Glad that she is doing well. And I want to know what the stitches fairy brings, too!
ReplyDeleteI love the stitches fairy idea. I'm gonna steel the next time we get some. Of course we've already had a few batches of stitches and the fairy didn't come but that was only because I didn't know about it so now that I know we'll be sure to save them.
ReplyDeleteIndy is brave, that sounds so nasty. She'll have a cool scar to show off. Well unless you get some of that mederma stuff. I hear it works great but couldn't find it when I needed it.
