On to my post! Here are some highlights of our trip...
We spent a lot of time with Grammy and Gramps (My mom's parents). They live out in the country and there was lots of room for all 5 little girls to run around.
Cousins! All 7 of my mom and dads grandkids on one couch! Aww dang! I just noticed the picture just misses the little peanut in Chelsea's tummy that will make #8!
Sweet cheeks!
Chelsea and I tried on my Grandma Juju's (my dad's mom) old dresses when we were visiting her! Wow! Don't we look hot!!??This picture isn't doing justice to the fact that Indy's booty is on top of Libby sleeping very peacefully!
Bachelorette Party! I threw my cousin a little shin-dig for her last days of singleness! The night included pizza, make up, hair do's, and going out for serve your self frozen yogurt. Oh and don't forget...
The special entertainment!(Actually, we had no such entertainment! But Jared was making fun of my less than exciting party so I asked some security gaurds at the Safeway to take a picture with me! They were a little hesitant because they didn't want to get beat up by a jealous husband. But Chelsea assured them he was in Utah... Then I texted the pic to Jared! I am so mean!)
The blushing bride- my awesome cousin Suzanne and the groom Craig.
We were the parents of 7 children under 7 for a week! Chelsea can you believe we made it without any tears of insanity! I think we were spared from emotional breakdowns because we honestly had no time for them!
I was in charge of hair and make up. Doesn't she look pretty!?
Bridesmaids and babies!
Whoa! Bridesmaids and No babies!
One event I have no pics of is the fun day the girls spent with their Grandma Penny while I was at the wedding and reception! I hear there was an incident with lots of bubbles in the jetted tub and the girls laughing and screaming "We're white people and we are going to turn the whole world white!" Which is only very funny because my mother in law lives in a very racially diverse neighborhood in Oakland and had her windows open!
And that was just the first reception! The next one was back up at our home town and was just as fabulous as the first and I saw so many old friends! It was a crazy busy week and I was so glad I got to be there! It meant the world to be a bridesmaid for my favorite cousin!
But I was also sooo glad to go home...
On our way through the Sierras. I love those mountains! It was so good to be going home!
And that is why you have to go on roadtrips... to appreciate home.
(Are you still reading this incredibly long post?? Sorry it was a long trip!)
Awesome! You did great! Email me that pic of all my grandkids!! Thanks! Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteLooks very very fun!
ReplyDeleteI disagree with your blog title though. Plain and simple? I think NOT! You gorgeous babe you!
You are anything but plain, I agree with Rachel. You are way too much fun though and I wish I could come hang out with you. I can't beleive you got the safeway security gaurds to pose with you. That just cracks me up. I love it! Where were you for my bridal shower? :) Sounds like it was a fantastic time. YOu're so lucky to be close to your cousins.
ReplyDeleteThat looked like a fun, but really busy trip. I have to say I love the picture with the security guards, it would have been fun to see Jared's face when he got it..
