Dance Recital
I always wanted to be in dance when I was little, so of course I make my girls do it and it so cute and adorable. but let me tell you about the events that took place before the performance.
I decided they should have a good balanced meal before the performance right. So I make some bag of pasta and veggies from Costco. They wouldn't even touch it. Too many spices Indy said. Okay so that was a waste of time... So then I do their hair, Indy first. I try to pull her hair back she pulls it right back out, I try to curl her bangs, she wets them back down. This is after she promised me that if I bought her a snow cone that afternoon I could do anything I wanted to her hair. I knew it wouldn't happen, waste of time again. Libby was much easier. She had let me put curlers in her hair the night before so I just touched it up with the curling iron. It looked fabulous. At least one thing turned out. Libby let me put make up on her- even mascara! Indy washed off everything I put on her face, and she wouldn't let me get near her with the mascara.
About this time Ellie pees on the floor, and I realize we are running late. So I freak out a bit and start frantically searching for all their dance stuff. I had put it all by the door, ready to go, but, of course, when I go to get it the batons are missing so I have to search for those! But we make it out the door and we get their just in the nick of time. Jared is there waiting and says, "Where's the camera?" The camera?? The only reason I do all this is to have pictures and memories, so I can show the girls later in life when they are famous, how cute they were in their humble beginnings... And I had forgotten the camera! I can feel my eyes starting to burn... But Jared says no problem I have time to go get it. And he does get it and makes it back in time for their first number.
Was it worth it... YES! Look at the beautiful pictures!
