Christmas 2012

The Chord family always gets together for a Christmas Eve extravaganza! We did it with my dad's side of the family when I was little and we do it still with everyone from my side of the family! We watch the Christmas Story ("you'll shot your eye out!") and eat lots of delicious food! Then we dress all the kids up in towels and scarves and let the kids act out the Nativity while my dad reads it from the bible. And then, the part the kids have been waiting all year for- we open presents from each other! We choose names in our family for gifts and its a lot of fun! After we opened presents I tried to get all the kids to sit still for a picture. The next 3 pictures are the best ones out of the 10 that I took! Man, it is hard to take a good picture of 9 children!
Sadly, I didn't take any other pictures, so if any of my siblings have any send them to me!

After everyone left the kids opened their new Christmas pajamas and modeled them for us..

This was our Christmas tree after Santa came!

The kids dying to open their presents!

Checking out what Santa brought!

Ellie wanted this stuffed monkey ever since she saw it at Target weeks ago and you would have thought she had won the lottery when she opened it up!
Libby with a new holiday Barbie.

Jared got exactly what he wanted for Christmas, it was almost like he ordered it himself! Oh, wait....

Milo with his Zelda shield and sword! He is ready for action!

Indy got the Harry Potter books from Santa and some more pokemon stuff. For some reason I don't have any pics of just her.

This Christmas was special because we made some homemade gifts for the kids. Jared made all the kids longboards and they are awesome!! Jared also made me the sideboard table that you can see in one of the pics. It wasn't quite finished but I am so excited about it!
I crocheted the kids a stuffed zebra and they turned out pretty cute. And I asked my Aunt Brenda if she could make the kids some dolls and she made the cutest little dolls and each one looks like each kid. I made the clothes for the dolls and I am not a seamstress! So, the fact the clothes I made even resemble actual clothes is a Christmas Miracle!

After we opened presents we went over to Jared's parents home to spend the day with all his family! We had the most delicious lunch with tons of gourmet food! It was very impressive! Then we had lots of fun exchanging gifts! And spending time together!

We are so blessed! We have so much love in our life. Everyday I try to think of everything I am thankful for but it isn't possible! There is too much! Right now I am most grateful for is my Savior and the real reason of this holiday- to celebrate His birth!

The End
