Taking a break, picking a book, getting together, doing what I love and a new hobby found!

It finally happened... I have gotten sick of crocheting! I know, I know! How could I feel that away about such a repetitive, slow going, time consuming hobby? Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but I just need a break!

So, I got some good books from Denae, because I have a horrible time picking out good books from the library! I will come home with a stack of books and won't like any of them!  I am really liking the referral system!  The Book Thief is living up to its praise and if you stop by my house today or tomorrow you will see how good it is because of the state disaster my house is in!

I started a crocheting "club" with my sister- in-law, Adrienne, on Wednesdays and its been really fun! But Adrienne and I are thinking of changing it to a craft group instead because of the before said reasons! Any friends who live close enough- feel free to join us!

Oooh! Ooh! I went running outside yesterday!! I haven't ran out on the river trail since last summer! It was so refreshing to go out and do what I love.  I have been a little discouraged with the times my treadmill has been telling me.  I have been running since Christmas and according to my treadmill I can do 5 miles in 58 min. (Even for being out of shape that is incredibly slow for me!) So imagine my relief when I did 5 miles in 45 min out in the fresh air, with a drizzle of rain, and beautiful scenery!  I did 6 miles in 54 min and that felt so easy!! I am so happy that I am making progress... I think this summer is going to be a racing one!

I did the girls hair the other day while I was watching my niece and baby nephew (I even had my Leo in the sling so I could free up my hands to do hair!)  You all know I love to do hair! And I like to think I am good at it.  I even dream about going to beauty school when Milo starts school... As you have also noticed, my girls like to look beau-tee-ful!! I teach them from the start that sometimes we have to go through a little pain (like when they are screaming over tangles or when I am braiding) to look good! Ellie is probably my most hard core beauty queen! She loves to be all done up...   They looked so cute so we took some pictures!
See me in the background...

I was doing this...

Which is what happens when you have three older sisters! You have to wait you turn for your chance in the beauty chair!

This picture was so cute! I told the kids to go read because I was sick of cartoons so they all got a book and read! I had like a whole 45 seconds of silence!

Here's the shocker of the month..... Drum roll....

Jared has started a new hobby! Can you believe it!? Of course you can! And don't worry, it is an equally time consuming and expensive hobby as all the rest!

Here is the new obsession!

Here is Jared and his trusty sidekick, Milo, watching Jared's coolness because he can hover the copter!  Can you spot it?

Milo wishing his Daddy had a remote controlled motorcycle!

He tries so hard to be like his Dad in so many ways!

The wonder and awe of a little boy on Christmas...

And this, my friends, is why this hobby is so expensive and sooo frustrating!

Ahhhh!

But I did get diamonds for Valentines Day! ( I promise this is the last time I will brag about them!) But if you know Jared it says sooo much about how much he loves me!! So, I will suffer through this hobby like I have with all the others. And hopefully in another 10 years some more diamonds will appear on Valentines Day!!!

  4. Love this post, Carre! You look beautiful in the background doing hair.
So nice to run outside, right? As much as I would love to get a treadmill for the winter, I just love being outside. I'm up to almost 2 miles...a little bit behind you, but it's going fast, so I'll be ready for our 10k in May!

  5. Hey Carilynne,

Sorry I haven't left comments for you in a while. I still can't belive you have 4 kids and the youngest has grown up so much. It seems like just yesterday you brought him home from the hospital.

I love the pics of the family and Jared's new hobby. We were in the store the other day and George saw the helicopters and robots and really wanted one. Budget makes it hard for that though.

Hugs to you and your fam,

    Shannon

  6. You amaze me! Don't know how you do it all. I'm so glad you got out for a run. There's nothing so refreshing as a run down the river trail. And Milo's bum crack pic is my new favorite. Cute, cute, cute!

  7. You think that hobby is expensive? Just be grateful he hasn't taken up flying REAL ones. I always say to Erik, "Can't you take up running or reading? You need CHEAP hobbies!"
