Current Happenings

So for the second time I have tried to get Milo off the bottle.  It lasted about 15 min.  You see, I still get up at least twice a night and refill his bottle, and lets just say I grumble- just a little :0)- about it!  So last night I was ready with a sippy cup of water and I was going to listen to his crying until he gave in and accepted his sippy. But he had other plans. In true boy fashion when he realized he couldn't push or pull me out of bed to get him some milk in a bottle he resorted to hitting and throwing his sippy at me.  Needless to say- in my exhausted state I caved and got the kid a stinkin' bottle.  I have not changed my plans though this morning.  At breakfast I gave him two choices...

a bottle with water
or
a sippy filled with chocolate milk

Which do you think he chose??

(Well he actually chose both, but he only drank the chocolate milk. I think he just want the comfort of having his bottle in his hands.)

Other updates:

Ellie is constantly saying funny things and keeping up laughing!  She loves to get "fweaked out" and dramatically tell us all about what ever freaked her out. She is into making up pretend friends and telling stories about them. She told her preschool teacher yesterday that her friend Collette ate paint and died. Well, she actually does have a friend named Collette but she DID NOT eat paint and die!  Ellie is also into having her done beautiful and picking out her own clothes.

Libby is loving kindergarten and reading.  She is very good at reading for her age! As Grandma Penny says my kids are "way advanced!"  Libby is very fashion conscious, also ( gee, I wonder where they get it from? :0)  She always has her bubbly laugh ready to reward anything that catches her fancy. She loves her friends and has lots of them. She mothers other kids in her class that need help with reading or other tasks.  All the girls are really into playing the wii! And I let them play more often these days because it's one activity Milo will sit and watch and I don't have to worry about him getting into stuff!

Indy is growing up! I see it everyday and It makes me happy to see the beautiful young women she is becoming.  But it also makes me miss my baby! She is smart and loves reading! Going to the library is one of her favorite past times.  She also has lots of friends and likes to play! But her best friends are her sisters and I kinda like it that way.  Indy is getting very good at the Wii and loves to play bowling where she is proud to announce that she is now a pro and has a sparkly pink ball! She is working on fractions this week and I am having a hard time explaining things to her because she gets frustrated easily. But last night we got through the whole page in a half an hour! She is learning not to freak out when she doesn't understand something right away!

Stay tuned for more updates on Milo getting weaned from the bottle and other happenings of the Jaynes Family!

  1. I'd have a gazillion more kids if they'd all come out sleeping through the night. :)

  3. That's the exact struggle I've been dealing with for the past week and a half! 3 nights straight of 4 plus hours screaming. (notice I didn't say crying, that's because this was not just crying!) The next 2 nights were great and we're back to the screaming again.... I'm so tired I can hardly function! We'll make it. I had to complete get rid of my bottles though to avoid the temptation late at night! Not worth a midnight trip to walmart to stop the madness! Hope it starts working for you. Keep me updated. It's a lot easier when there is someone out there who can feel your pain!

PS. how did your craft day go?
