Don't be alarmed...

If you see me walking Indy to school with black circles under my eyes and dreadlocks forming in the back of my hair... No, I have not started using illegal substances. I just went to bed too tired to wash my face and woke up too late to brush my hair.

Do not be alarmed if you step in to my house and all the furniture is turned over or pushed against the wall... It wasn't a tornado, we just have to do that so Milo won't climb on the table.

Do not be alarmed if you walk a little further through my house and see toys, laundry and shoes littering the floor... No- we have not been ransacked by robbers! Just four kids and a puppy live here, who were superheros, princesses, and dancers today.

Do not be alarmed if you happen to peek in my kitchen and see dishes piled high and my pantry ransacked... No- I was not invaded by a pack of hungry teenagers! Instead of doing the dishes after dinner, I went outside and played with the puppy and waved to the kids as they got rides from their daddy on the little dirt bike. The evening light won't be here much longer but the dishes will...

When to be alarmed....
If you don't see big pink ribbon's in Ellie's hair or Milo's fabulously chubby legs and even more chubby feet, bouncing happily from his favorite seat!!
What will I do come winter and I have to cover up his yummy little feet with shoes? I am worried that next spring I will take off his shoes and the fat little feet will be gone and in their place will be big boy feet!

  1. Great post!

I need to make sure I enjoy those simple moments. Especially since my kids seem to grow faster every year.
