The rough road to relaxation!

Recently, I have hit a bit of rough road on my journey through motherhood. No... nobody has gotten seriously ill or died. Although Indy did stub her big toe today and I am pretty sure she is going to lose her toenail- it was bad!

I just feel overwhelmed by all the little stuff. Like teething. Milo's poor gums are getting big and swollen and he hasn't slept well for a week. But the good news is the gums are getting a white line so the tooth can't be far behind!

Oh, and getting my kids to do their chores! It is getting harder and harder! I just want to do it myself but I can't because I always seem to be busy with the baby and everything... So the house seems to always be a disaster but I always feel like I am cleaning or telling, begging or threatening my kids to clean... I am exhausted just thinking about it.

And the drama! Do you want to know something funny... When I was planning my family in my teenage years like how many kids, boys or girls, and their names (you know we all did it!) I was going to have three boys and 1 girl... I had babysat enough to know that drama went along with girls. That must be why I had to have the opposite... Summer time means lots of time to play with friends and with three girls I think my cup is full when it comes to drama!

I understand that this time is such a small fraction of their lives and I am enjoying it! But I find myself looking back to old times when life was different or even forward to when my life will get easier, well at least when I get to sleep through the night! (I have three girls- life is not going to get easier! :0)

Anyways I had to tell you all this because Our 9 year wedding anniversary is coming up this month and Jared has promised me a night away together so I can sleep in!

I am in desperate need of some R&R! I want a day and a night of mommy relaxation, fun and sleep!!

So I need some suggestions and ideas! Good hotels, places to eat, things to do, and of course sleep!!

As you can tell the thing I am looking foward the most is getting to sleep like a baby! Not my baby, of course! Some other person's baby that actually sleeps- like this one!

  1. I love going to any nice hotel. I like the Hilton and Marriott hotels, the Anniversary Inn is nice too. My all time favorite place to eat is The Five Alls. It is in Salt Lake, just down from the Zoo. It is only open Friday through Sunday and reservations are recommended. I'm also a fan of going to get a massage. The only place I've been to in Utah is Massage Envy.

    Have fun!

  2. Johnson Mill in midway is my fav. They have awesome rooms all come with a big enough for 2 hot tub, they make a huge breakfast that they serve in room or out on the beautiful patio. They have canoes so you can go out for a romantic canoe ride. And the best part is park city is 20 minutes away.

  4. Two places I'd like to try-out sometime are Anniversary Inn and the Bed and Breakfast in Provo (I can't remember the name right now, but they claim it's the only one in Provo, so it should come up in a google search.)

  5. We just went for a weekend away from the kiddos in Park City. I'll tell you all about it when we can get together. It was great and the place we stayed even had an 'adults only' pool/sauna/steamroom area that was kind of nice to not only be away from our kids, but to be away from all kids!!
