Indy's birth story

Eight years ago from last Sunday I woke up early in the morning and I had to "GO" if you know what I mean... After I got back to bed, I felt like I had to GO again... but I knew I couldn't possibly have to go again! But why was my stomach still hurting??? It took a while for my 20 year old brain to realize that it might have something to do with the big baby in my belly. But even when that thought occurred to me I suffered in silence for an hour before I woke Jared to be sure it wasn't a false alarm.

We both started pacing... We were excited to meet this kid! As the pain got more intense we started calling people, like Jared's dad who was also his boss, and my mom who was living in California and needed to get a plane quick!!

I took a shower and tried to get all pretty so my baby wouldn't be embarrassed of her mommy. But there wasn't much I could do during contractions so we decided to head for the hospital. Sitting down in the car was the hardest thing because I did not want to be sitting down during contractions! But we made it, I was admitted, I got my epidural and life was good! I even rested for a while before it was time to push!

And push I did for 2 hours! I think the nurses came in the beginning to show me how to push... but then they left me (ME,practically still a kid!!) with Jared (yes all alone with just Jared!) to push a baby out all by myself... So after two hours- no wonder I still had no baby! So they called the doctor and he came in and snipped a big snip (which I watched him do since the nurses were so kind as to put a mirror up for me..) then he pulled that baby girl out with some scary looking tongs (commonly called forceps). At the time I was just relieved someone was finally helping me!

Indy was born at 3:28 pm, on June 28th 2001, weighing 7 lbs 11 oz, and was 18 1/2 inches long! And despite the marks on the sides of her incredibly pointy cone head she was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen and I felt us bond the moment I held her in my arms!

I was a mother! Life was perfect! (Until I tried to go to the bathroom of course!)
Here are some exciting pics from our fun weekend!

Indy got a dirt bike!

Four wheelin' on Saturday at the Sand Dunes... Indy had never ridden her dirt bike on the sand was not having any of it!

Luckily one of our friends brought a craft project to occupy the princesses!

Milo really enjoyed the sand!
Sunday morning, Indy's birthday! Favorite cereal is a must have!

After her favorite dinner of Alfredo, that she wouldn't eat because she was to excited, she go to open presents!

Which included lots of littlest pet shops, Hannah Montana and HSM stuff, a baptism scrapbook and CTR ring...

And a beach in a box from Holly!
8 candles! I cant believe it! (Check out Jared's face!)

Cutting her birthday piece!

I think all her birthday wishes came true!

  2. Oh I wish I could have been there. How cool to get a dirt bike. You guys are way cooler parents than we are. Looks wonderful. I remember that beautiful Indy so fondly. She's quite the young lady now. Oh Jack's got glasses now. He looks so much more grown up to me these days. He'll be baptized in Aug. When will Indy?
