Milestones

Milo is just 6 days shy of being 10 months old. Wow- what a mile stone! Here are somethings Milo has experienced in his short lifetime:
Crawling and walking
Two bottom teeth
Pulling big pots out of cupboards and anything else he can reach
He has dumped poisonous substances's like comet on the floor... because his daddy hasn't put up the baby locks that are still sitting on the counter.
Goes up and DOWN stairs! Jared takes credit for this since he wouldn't put up any baby gates either.
Eats almost anything he sees us eating
Says mama and dada
Waves good-bye
Claps
Gets snacks for himself out of the garbage
Played in dirty toilet water
And he has also manage to win the heart of every girl in the house, and many other hearts I should say, with his adorable smile and happy personality!

And in these last few months of enjoying life with my four kids I have been waiting for my baby weight to magically disappear. (You experienced moms are all chuckling right now, I am sure!). And well, I still 6-8 lbs (depending on the time of day) that refuse to leave my body. And honestly, I can see why it wants to stay since I feed those fat cells well, but it is time for them to go.

So I have decided to stop feeding them what they want! And that has become my daily challenge... I love treats! I love to make treats and I love to eat treats! Its a curse! But I am swearing them off! No more sugary treats for me! No creamy velvety chocolate melting in mouth. No chewy, fudgey brownies will cross my lips. No cool, rich ice cream to satisfy my cravings!

Ok ok... You got me... That is completely not possible!

So here is my plan B:
No treats all week! Which is still a huge challenge for me but hey, who doesn't like a challenge! I just have to get through six days of torture and then on the 7 th day I will reward myself by going out for a dessert or a treat with my hubby on date night!
So it might work... and it might not... but I determined to give it a try.

And I will get my just desserts if I only can earn them!

Gelato sounds delish for this Saturday... That place is to die for! And I just might die waiting for the day to come!

My healthy eating tips:
Since I don't believe in taking the joy of treats out of my children's childhood memories I will only keep treats that my kids enjoy in the house, like otter pops and Popsicles... (For some reason they have no power over me!)

I will work harder at keeping my counters cleared off, because we all know what happens when a bag of chips or a plate of cookies is sitting out!

And I will try to only eat 1 regular sized potion at meals...

Well there is your healthy eating thought for the day!

  1. should try to do this with you, but you know wht i'm making for our ward party Friday! There is no way I can resist that! My neighbor has a new diet for me to try. I'm thinking about it next week.. Let me know if you want to try it with me! It's easier when someone is suffering along with you!

  2. I'm a much weaker woman then you. I think I must start with only day to day resistance in the treat area. I didn't make it today so tomorrow will be a fresh start. I have many pounds to loose though. You already look fabulously wonderful so really go ahead and help yourself to those treats. :)

My treat today, I do consider slightly healthy. It was a mixture of chocolate chips (dark) craisins, almonds, pretzels, and kix. It was pretty good and I only ate a little cause there wasn't enough for me to have my own little bowl like my kids. Oh wait I had two treats. I also made my kids bananas on a stick which consists of me spreading natural peanut butter on the banana and then adding sprinkles or chocolate chips. I put chocolate chips on mine. Darn I really do eat chocolate everyday.
Good luck! I know you can do it.

  3. I can't believe he is 10 months. Were does the time go? Good luck on the sweets - I have a major sweet tooth and I absolutely love making them so I'm not sure that I can give it up yet altough I have been trying to cut back (I can't do the once a week :)
