Ellie has silver teeth

So here's the bad news, I still have to post pictures taken on my camera phone... The good news is Ellie got half of her six cavities filled today. Only half because they won't numb her whole mouth at one one time and so they can charge me twice for the laughing gas...

So after I had to practically lay on top of her to hold down her legs, and one of the dental assistants was trying to keep her from arching her back and the third assistant was helping the dentist hold her head still- we got it done. So how did we celebrate all this torture...

Just scroll down and have a looksie...

Yes that is frosting...
What is frosting made out of...
Oh- pure sugar?!

And what causes cavities!!! Well, you see my weakness that I have past on to my children. (Indy wasn't home or the pics would be of Ellie and Indy fighting over the frosting.)

I think I have spent more time with the dentisit this month than my own motorcycle lovin' husband.

I really think I should have married a dentist... (I luv ya Babe, but it would be so economical if you were a dentisit you understand, don't you)

And, yes, Ellie is wearing Libby's swim suit... Was she going swimming? No, of course not, it was just the only article of clothing left that she hadn't put on yet today. She is definitely her mother's child.

*Special thanks to my mom who came with me to the dentist at Ellie's request and sat out in the waiting room for two hours with Libby and Milo. And then took me and the girls to get ice cream cones and kids meals... She was even 15 minutes late to work. She is still making sacrifices for me what a fabulous mom! I love ya! Even though you send me emails correcting my spelling, but what good mother wouldn't do that!

  2. oh man poor Ellie, going to the dentist is hard stuff for little kids. Lucky for us Brandon's aunt is our dentist and we go after hours to get our work done at no charge (except for what the insurance pays). The draw back is that we have to go to Washington to see her!

Averie changes her clothes a gazillion time a day too, it used to drive me crazy but I learned to get over it because it's always gonna be that way I'm afraid.

Oh and how funny about your mom sending you emails correcting your spelling because that is what Brandon's mom does to me! ha ha ha

  3. Hi...I read strangers blogs all the time.. I am a definate blog-stalker:) I think your blog is super cute. The dental work your daughter had makes me so nervous to even take my son to the dentist. He probably need 30 fillings! YIKES:)

  4. Carre, that is so funny! Lucy had to have major dental work, so we just opted to put her to sleep (not like a dog, you know, just knock her out) It was so nice because they got it all done in one shot, and for the most part Lucy was a pro. Coming out of anesthesia (spelling, please, Lauralyne) for a 3 year old has to be a strange experience! but frosting afterwards...that's classic!

  5. Sugar is always a good way to celebrate in my mind. Have you looked into fluoride to help keep the cavities away? Just a thought.

I think all kids go through a stage when they have to change all the time. Some kids it lasts all their life. ;)

  9. Great post. I'm hoping my kids little pictures stay on the "NO Cavity Club" board forever. I though am not so fortunate. I don't blame mine on my sugar weakness though, I blame it on my children and all the puking/ weakening of everything when your pregnant. You are much more responsible then I. :)
