Confessions of a mother

Its amazing how when you bring your sweet, new, baby home, he seems like such an angel. You love to feed him, change him, dress him, and hold him. When he crys you instictively pick him up and say, "Aww, what's wong with da wittle baby!" And then I give him what ever he wants... And life is good and enjoyable until...
All the rest of the children come home! Suddenly my two year sure seems to cry a lot, and my 4 year old is always asking me for food the moment she sees me sit down, and my 7 year old has the of attitude of a 15 year old! But wait I chose to have all these children! And just two weeks ago I loved them all very much, and was quite certain I had the best family in the whole world... What happen to all those feelings!
It takes me back to a memory that happened almost 5 years ago. I was living in my little house down the street and I was pregnant with Libby. My best friend and across the street neighbor, Becky, admitted to having feeling of annoyance towards her first child after she brought her new little baby home. I was shocked! And I thought to myself- Indiana could never annoy me!! She is my baby, my first child, I love her so much...
Well here I am admitting that all my children have all became very annoying when I have brought a new baby home. And now I have three annoying children and one sweet baby! Luckily, I know now that this is just a phase and will pass quickly and then I will love all my children again.
And all of you who are shocked that I admitted this- just you wait!

  1. I actually felt the same way right after Charlie was born. Luke was so irritating. It's slowly starting to change. Now they are both kind of irritating. Just kidding!

  2. I don't need to bring a new baby home for my children to be annoying. I mean I love them to death but sometimes.....

  3. I know how you feel. I am also glad to hear that Novalee isn't the only 7 year old acting like a teenager! It makes me feel like a not so bad parent

Nah, not shocked. If that is your worst for confessions then you are doing a whole lot better than the rest of us.

  5. I love you! Way to be honest and well we all feel that way sometimes. I'm sure things will settle down and when you peek at them sleeping you'll think they are the best thing since sliced bread again. :) I love the ups and downs of being a mom.
