The time is fast approaching!
Okay all my faithful friends, I want all the imformation you got on how to get a baby out! I still have three weeks and 2 days to go, but when people tell you in the hallway at church that you look ready to have a baby- it's time to start planning! What works and what doesn't? Has anyone ever drank castor oil?... I need feedback!

For me the only thing that worked was induction(is that how it is spelt?). I've heard of some interesting things but none of them worked for me. Sorry. :(

Only one of mine came without being induced and with her I had helped Jason the day before put up folding chairs and did as much physical things as I could. I don't know if that was good for the baby or not but I was tired of waiting for him. The next day I started with my labor but when I went in they were going to send me home but when they went to get my discharge papers the contractions were so close together they kept me. By the way I have your present at my house and if you are in my neighborhood stop by otherwise I will come by your house!
ReplyDeleteIf the baby isnt ready it wont come, it doesnt matter how many different things you try. Also the baby needs to drop into place on their own so if you try to start things to soon, they cord could come out first, or get wrapped around his head. I tried everything with Ashton and nothing worked. Ok I didnt try castor oil but my dr told me not to do it because of all these bad things that can happen to the baby. It was used back in the day but now they dont like you to do. So hang in there he will be out soon enough just enjoy the time you have still sleeping in.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those people who tried everything!!! Nothing worked with Averie but, with Kaylie my uncle who is an OB told me to drink Raspberry Leaf tea and it really worked I dilated 3 centimeters in one day however... it was only a couple of days before my due date. Anyways just walk a lot! If you need anything let me know! I can take your girls or help you around the house, cook for you...just let me know. GOOD LUCK!!!
ReplyDeleteOh honey I am the woman of experience on "tried it". Sadly........NOTHING works except make you frustrated and sore. Yes, I drank Castor oil with my first...didn't work....and that whole "what got you here in the first place will get the baby to come thing?" IT'S A CONSPIRACY! Your doc. feels bad for your man and the famine that is coming and so all the male folks in the world came up with that crappy idea. By the way.......tried it.....didn't work. Just put me into false labor and a crappy mood night after night and a husband who was in a great mood.......
ReplyDeleteThe raspberry tea....done that..didn't work....drank black kohash or how ever you spell it...didn't work.....tried black magic.....didn't work.......
Been prego a gazillion times..each time tried something new.....nothin and I mean nothin worked.....
Sigh......sorry.....it is just your babies way of letting you know before hand that he is in charge and don't forget cuz he'll remind you again when it is potty training time.

My midwife told me that if I went 2 weeks overdue we would take castor oil and that it would "work for sure." Of course, I never got to that point, but I know you can buy it at the grocery store in the pharmacy section if you're desperate.

Tess used castor oil and had her baby the next day. You should try it.
ReplyDeleteYou are cracking me up!! I actually did drinnk Castor Oil when I was pregnant with Courtney and it put me into labor (really uncomfortable hard contractions) we went to the hospital and I dialated to a 4 and then hours later everything stopped!! So they said, this happens, just go home and I sure we'll see you in a day or so" NOPE they didn't see me for 14 more days.... I was so angry!!
